For my pre-birthday celebration, I had dinner with XL and Merv on Friday. Went to Pierside Kitchen at One Fullerton. It was quite a nice evening for alfresco cos it was quite breezy. But we still decided to sit inside eventually. Spoilt Singaporeans. XL was slightly late so Merv and I ordered first. The menu was quite limited and nothing very fanciful. So we decided to share the pan roasted foie gras for starter and for mains, we ordered lobster linguini, roast pork rack teriyaki, and whole pan roasted trout (which was replaced with some other fish because they have no more trout).
The white bread they served was good. They came in little buns and I actually finished 4 of them, much to the horror of Merv. They claimed they don’t serve iced water, so we had to order still water and it was Fiji water (private joke between YY, Mel and I)!!
The mains were very good too. And they came in decent portions. We shared and finished all the food. For desserts, we had white coffee panna cotta with bailey’s Irish cream & toffee ice cream, basil crepes with caramelized bananas & butterscotch ice cream and valrhona chocolate fondant & vanilla bean ice cream. The valrhona chocolate fondant actually came with candle and “Happy Birthday Yunting” written on the plate, thanks to Merv. The desserts were ok but nothing memorable.
After dinner and reminiscing about old days, we took a walk along One Fullerton and were taking funny pictures of the 3 of us. It was a good night, with my bestest buddies, who are so predictable but reliable.
